Splendor - Cast & Crew

Gertraud Ingeborg
Gertraud has been working for the stage as an actress, director and producer  since 1986. She has many leading roles to her credit including Mother Courage in Mother Courage, Merteuil in Quartet, Mary Stuart in Mary Stuart (Sydney, New York), the Psychiatrist in a Canadian production of The Kabbalistic Psychoanalysis of Adam R. Tzaddik at the Adelaide Fringe Festival,  Gertrude in Hamlet and Rosenkrantz & Guildenstern are Dead (Bondi Pavilion) and Malvolio in Twelfth Night (New Theatre). She played Mrs Snelgrave in One Flea Spare (Belvoir St Downstairs),  Aerope in Thystes  and the Mare in This Little Piggy (Blue Print, Sydney Theatre Company), Hera in Live Acts on Stage (Stables Theatre), The Mother in Night Mother, Mama Rosa in a one-woman show called Oskar and the Lady in Pink  (both at the Theater am Hof, Bolzano, Italy), and the Fool in last year’s King Lear (a Harlos Production at the Bondi Pavilion). 

She directed Siberia (Lookout Theatre), The Bald Primadonna (George Moore Theatre Co., Mainly), Punch and Judy (Sidetrack Theatre) and most recently Ritter, Dene, Voss by Thomas Bernhard, one of the most prolific Austrian writers for the new theatre.  Her film credits include a leading role in the popular film, Fifteen Amore.

As a producer for Harlos Productions Gertraud has brought many European plays to the Sydney audiences including Stallerhof, Siberia, Quartet, Shakespeare in the Sex Shop, Visiting Hours and Bedford Drive 1941. In the last five years Gertraud concentrated on plays by Shakespeare with very successful seasons at the Bondi Pavilion.

Elaine Hudson
Elaine is a NIDA Graduate. She has directed for Page to Stage since 1999 and has been Co-Artistic Director for the last six years. Her work as an actor includes roles for the Old Tote, Q Theatre, Sydney Theatre Company, Company B, ne Her work as an actor includes roles fot the Old Tote, Q Theatre, Sydney Theatre Company, Company B, new theatre, Historic Houses Trust, Griffin Theatre, Phoenix, Company 2a, Claypot Productions, NIDA Company, Actors Forum, Queensize Productions and Windmill Performing Arts. Elaine received and Excellence Award at the New York International Fringe Festival in 2001 for her work in Dacia Maraini’s Mary Stuart (Queensize Productions). In 2003 Elaine formed Cumulus Productions with Liz Burton and Kevin Jackson to present Mother Teresa is Dead at the Old Fitzroy followed by The Women of Lockerbie in 2004 and Box and Quotations from Chairman Mao Tse-Tung at the Parade Studio in 2006, all Australian premieres.

Television work includes The Disappearance of Azaria Chamberlain, Joh’s Jury (AFI Best Actress Nomination), Heartbreak High, White Collar Blue, All Saints and The Ronnie Johns Half Hour.

Angela Bauer
Since graduating from Theatre Nepean, Angela has worked largely in theatre, with the last two years based in London. Credits include 7 Stories for Ensemble Theatre, African Gothic at the Old Fitzroy Hotel, Overexposed for Company Theatre Physical, The Mother, Macbeth and Under Milkwood for Sydney Art Theatre, The Malady of Death for the French Alliance Arts Festival and Convict Women: Lifetime Exile for Kropka Theatre which received the Energy Australia Heritage Award for the Arts. Previous work for Harlos Productions include Isolde and Tristan, King Lear and Hamlet, in which she played the title role. Angela will be performing next in the upcoming Harlos production of King Lear at the Bondi Pavillion.

Esti Regos
Esti graduated from Theatre Nepean in 2004, productions include Taming of the Shrew (John Senczuk), Savage/Love (Rochelle Whyte) , The Visit (Brendon McDonnal), Julius Caesar (Lee Lewis) and Pentecost (Anthony Skuse).
Since graduating, she has performed in Medea (New Theatre), Merchant of
Venice /Much Ado About Nothing (Shakespeare by the Sea) and Terrorism (Square the Circle/DTC). With Ride On Theatre Company, she co-wrote and performed in "Weeping Women" as part of Darlinghurst Theatre's "In The Raw", directed by Tanya Goldberg, and co-produced "Bone" in 2006 (DTC).

Director - Tanya Denny
Graduated from NIDA, 1998 (directing) and 1992 (Acting).  Her previous directing credits include,Redheads by Noelle janasweska, Emma by Graham Pitts (Artisiti senza Frontiere 06), Tram Frau Mutter (Teatro Cortiel 06)  Silence by Moira Buffini (bsharp o6) Nacht, Mutter (Teatro Cortile, 2005), Maria Stuarda ( Teatro Cortile, 2005), In the blood ( Bsharp 05), Tram frau Mutter (Teatro Cortile, 2004),  One flea spare by Naomi Wallace (Bsharp 2004), Fidelity by Tobsha Learner (TRS 2004), If Only You Had Spoken Desdemona by Christina Bruckner (Teatro Cortile, Italy 04), The Vagina Monologues by Eve Ensler (Teatro Cortile. 2003) Mary Stuart (Sydney Fringe Festival, Wollongong Festival and New York International Fringe Festival 2001), King lear (Harlos productions) Who's afraid of the working Class (New theatre). Tanya was also Literary programmer for the Sydney Gay and lesbian Mardi Gras 2002/2003.

In 2006 Tanya was a participant in The Boiler Room for BSharp 06. Tanya received the Ian Potter cultural trust to attend the SITI company Summer school in NYC in 2006.

Designer - Jo Lewis
NIDA graduate Jo Lewis’s previous credits include Silence by Moira Buffini (B Sharp, Syemour Centre, 2006); In the Blood by Suzan-Lori Parks (B Sharp, Downstairs Belvoir St Theatre, 2005); One Flea Spare by Naomi Wallace (B Sharp, Belvoir Street Downstairs, 2004); Traumfrau Mutter (Teatro Cortile, italy, 2004), Mahal by Petrina smith (Seymour centre 2002), Mary Stuart by Darcia maraini (Sydney, Belvoir St Downstairs, Fringe Festival and New York International Fringe Festival 2001).

Lighting Designer - Tony Youlden
Tony’s involvement with the theatre spans over forty-five years. Tony has worked as a freelance designer for most of Australia’s performing arts companies. He has lit over four hundred theatre, opera, and ballet productions. He has just retired as Technical Director from NIDA where he worked for over sixteen years. 

His association with the Harlos Productions includes being Lighting Designer for King Lear and many productions over the past eighteen years. In addition Tony has acted as a theatre consultant advising on the re-development of the Capitol Theatre, the Boardwalk Studio at the Sydney Opera House, and the new NIDA Stage II complex, as well as many educational theatres.

Queensize Productions

Queensize productions was formed in 2001 by Tanya Denny and designer Jo Lewis to produce Mary Stuart by Dacia Maraini. Queensize is committed to producing contemporary work by female playwrights with women in the key artistic positions. Queensize productions have produced Silence by Moira Buffini, Mary Stuart (Sydney, Wollolongong, New York). One Flea Spare by Naomi Wallace, In the blood by Suzan-Lori Parks and collaborated with Teatro Cortile in Italy for the Italian language production of Maria Stuarda. Recently Tanya was appointed Associate Director for Teatro Cortile, Italy (2006 –2009) and was invited to become a member of the Italian  artisitic activist group Artisti Senza Frontiere.
